The Virgin did not have any tendency, nor desire, nor strain, nor inclination which attracted Her to earth. Mary lived as though assumed throughout her whole pilgrimage, concluding her assumption in the embrace of the encounter with the Infinite.
Tomorrow, no later! with God forever... What sweet encounter...! And “there,” looking upon Him in His Sight, singing Him in His Mouth and loving Him in His Fire... Time is over and the end has come, Eternity has begun...! Face to face with God, adoring the Being in His being and in His persons, for His being who He is and for His way of so being; in an act of pure love that rejoices in God’s essential joy, forever...! And this will be tomorrow!
« The Word Incarnate, during His mortal life, was the suffering Christ who lived of Eternity; and now He is the glorious and eternal Christ who contains also in His soul the tragedy of all the ages. And, for this reason, He is the Great Christ, in the fullness of His Priesthood, who encloses within Himself Heaven and earth, Eternity and time, Divinity and humanity; He being Himself in Himself the Glorified One and the Glorifier, the Adored One and the Adoration, the Atonement and the One Atoned for. »
God is himself * “He who Is himself,” in the trinitarian company of his glorious Family. And “there,” in the height of his sublimity, He is at an infinite distance from all that it is not He, dwelling in the splendour of his glory, covered and shrouded by the gleams of his untouchable holiness.
What a Saturday of such glorious triumph! in which the soul of God’s Only Begotten Son, who at the same time is the Son of Man, opens by the fruit of His Redemption the sumptuous Gates of Eternity, closed since the earthly Paradise by the sin in rebellion of our First Parents; and the old floodgates are raised before the impetuous passing of irresistible power of the soul of God’s immolated Only Begotten Son, in triumph of glory.
Evangelical childhood lies in entrusting everything to the Father, knowing that His love will do in us all that which, to our lowliness, is impossible to attain.
Let us venerate and respect the priest of Christ, the one anointed with the divine anointing, and let us see in him the spiritual father who gives us the divine nourishment by which –filling our souls from the sources of the sacraments, which he alone has the power to administer– we become God’s children and heirs of His glory.
God is known in silence, because there He speaks to the heart, and the utterance of God is His workings in the soul. My God, work Yourself in me that I may know about You
