Dear Friends of The Work of the Church,
We have celebrated in Loja (Ecuador) an event that we had long awaited and that has finally become a reality.
The Bishop of this beloved Diocese has blessed and inaugurated the Apostolate House of The Work of the Church here in Loja.

Twenty-seven years ago, in response to the persistent request of the then-Bishop of this Diocese, Monsignor Hugolino, the apostolic activities began here. This work has borne much fruit for the Diocese and for The Work of the Church, with many vocations to consecrated life and priesthood, as well as a deep love for the Church that has been sown—despite only being able to visit from Spain once or twice a year for fifteen days.
That is why this long-awaited and desired moment fills us all with immense joy, which we wish to share with you.
As you can see in the video accompanying this publication, joy and happiness filled everyone present.
The current Bishop, Monsignor Walter Heras, expressed in many ways the joy that this grace represents for the Diocese, for The Work of the Church, and therefore, for the entire Church. (See homily)
Personally, having traveled with Fr. Jorge on that first journey from February 19th to March 19th, 1998, just after The Work of the Church was granted pontifical approval, I experienced this moment with special emotion.
We give thanks to Monsignor Hugolino for his persistence in ensuring that The Work of the Church would come here, making this the first place—after Spain and Italy—where The Work of the Church began its apostolic mission. We also thank Monsignor Walter Heras, the current Bishop of this Diocese of Loja, who has always welcomed us with affection and who now officially approves The Work of the Church in this beloved Diocese, inaugurating and blessing this new apostolic house.
May the Lord bless and make fruitful the apostolate here for the good of the Diocese and the entire Church. May everything work out for the glory of God and the salvation of many souls, who, through the light of Mother Trinidad, may discover the mystery of the Church and be led to live deeply as children of God and living members of Holy Mother Church.
Father Pablo Suárez
Priest of The Work of the Church
